Juno
Canine Advocate

Juno is a dedicated Canine Advocate who provides support and healing to the children and families who visit Small Talk.

For the first year and a half of her life, Juno was raised by Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester, MI, with the intention of becoming a guide dog for someone with a visual impairment. Dogs in this program undergo rigorous training and must pass multiple checkpoints along the way. However, during her training, Juno’s natural talents proved to be better suited for advocacy work, which led her to join the Small Talk team in March 2024.

Small Talk Canine Handlers Morgan and Mya, in collaboration with Dagny Kasper at The Pals Academy, worked diligently to prepare Juno for her important role, and in February 2025, she was officially certified as a Canine Advocate by Canine Advocates of Pontiac, MI."

Juno is a vibrant, curious, and affectionate Golden Retriever who loves swimming in Lake Michigan, playing tug-of-war, and rolling around in the grass (or snow, depending on the season). She has an insatiable love for food, but if she had to choose, her favorites would be bananas and pup cups.
