Bethanie De La Ossa
Board Member

Bethanie has been a Registered Nurse for 28 years. Twenty five of those years have been spent right here in Lansing at Sparrow Hospital. She has been involved with Sparrow’s Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) team since 2004. She developed a passion of caring for children who have suffered either physical or sexual trauma while working on the SANE team and as a nurse in the Pediatric Emergency Department and Pediatric ICU.

Bethanie graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Spring Arbor University. Currently she is serving as a mentor to the Sparrow SANE team as they transition into a full Forensic Nurse Examiner team. She has previously held a nationally recognized certification in Pediatric Emergency Nursing and Sexual Assault Nursing. She has had the opportunity to work with Small Talk as a nursing professional on their Multi-Disciplinary team.

Bethanie lives in Grand Ledge with her husband. She has a passion for camping, hiking and just hanging out with her kids. She is so proud that two of her children have chosen to work in the medical field. It is her hope for her children to continue her legacy of providing compassionate care to children of trauma as they mature in their profession. As one of the newest members of the Small Talk Board of Directors, Bethanie looks forward to many more years of supporting this endeavor.
